Michiko Yoshida first found out about the conference from the conference web site, and wanted to visit Norway to be able to attend the conference and present the paper «Analysis of Regional Social Networking Services: Community Participation and Regional Economic Revitalization in Japan».

– Nordic people are very open minded and friendly, and very kind to foreigners, Yoshida brags. – It is very nice to be here, and the conference is well organized.

The work on and discussions about eGovernance and accessible internet services in Japan is different from the discussion in European countries.

– In Japan, we focus more on the efficiency aspect, Masahiko Shoji explains. Our approach to eGovernment is reforming inefficient bureaucratic systems in Japan. This conference focuses much more on the democratic aspect, the ethics of including all, and the human rights perspective.
